Overview

iCUBEFARM is a career-enablement platform serving professionals across Africa. As a Software Engineer and DevOps Engineer, I played a key role in transforming the platform’s architecture, user experience, and infrastructure — leading multiple initiatives across frontend, backend, payments, automation, and cloud operations.

My work focused on simplifying user onboarding, improving platform reliability, modernizing infrastructure, and building scalable systems that support high user traffic and business growth.

• Platform Re-Architecture & UX

  • Led a complete platform rebrand and frontend rebuild, migrating from React to Next.js for improved performance, SEO, and maintainability.
  • Redesigned the professional user experience, focusing on clarity, speed, and conversion.
  • Re-implemented the signup flow from a long, multi-step form to a simple email + OTP flow, dramatically reducing friction and improving onboarding completion rates.
• Payments & Monetization

  • Improved and stabilized the payments system by integrating Stripe, Flutterwave, Manual bank receipt verification
  • Built flexible payment flows to support different vendors, pricing models, and regional payment needs.
• Infrastructure & DevOps

  • Maintained staging, demo, and production environments with 99.9999% uptime.
  • Led infrastructure migration from:

    • Ubuntu 14.04 → 22.04
    • Python 3.6 → 3.11 (improving security, performance, and long-term maintainability)
  • Owned deployment pipelines, server monitoring, and production reliability.
• Internal Tool & Automation & Messaging

  • Built a WhatsApp broadcasting automation system capable of sending 10,000+ messages per batch, supporting large-scale user communication and engagement for internal usage.
• Career Tools & AI Systems

  • Engineered a PDF and web-based resume builder, auto-generated from user profile data with full editing flexibility.
  • Built a career planner and goal-tracking system powered by AI using:

    • RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation)
    • LangChain
    • FAISS vector database
    • Hugging Face castorini/monot5-base-msmarco-10k for ranking and retrieval
  • Enabled personalized career guidance using structured user data and AI-assisted insights.
